Art
An ongoing collection of mixed-media artwork.
Context
Art is an ongoing mixed-media collection built from observations of crowded city scenes: night markets, platforms, crossings, riders, vendors, signs, and reflected light. Taipei is the confirmed location attached to the project, while the work moves through a wider travel-sketchbook vocabulary.
Problem and constraints
The work needs to hold several moments in one frame without resolving a street into a single clean view. Busy scenes still need a readable structure, and the images must keep traces of movement, memory, and reconstruction visible rather than smoothing them away.
Role
I make the collection as an artist working in mixed media. The project page holds the full sequence together; the Album separates individual works for close viewing and image metadata.
Key decisions and process
Each scene begins with a large spatial rhythm: a band of figures, a bright stall, a horizontal train, or a street receding between buildings. Deep blue carries the surrounding city, while orange, amber, turquoise, and white guide attention through the frame. Torn edges, layered marks, repeated figures, and partial signs keep different observations visible at once.
Outcome
The collection remains ongoing rather than presenting a finished series. The project page is the complete visual record, while the related writing and Album works make the recurring structure, color, fragments, and movement available as separate entries.
